You’re on Laurel Hill Time!

Get lost in the beauty of navigating the intricacies of farm life.  Here at Laurel Hill, we are constantly evolving, learning, and growing with the changing seasons.  We get to exercise our problem-solving skills and are often rewarded with pop-up adventure.

We do “farming” a little differently!

Farming practices of the past portray early mornings, grueling work, and strict routine.

That’s not how we work at Laurel Hill.

Work at Laurel Hill feels more like a visit with your grandmother.  Amy guides you through the rhythms of her everyday life.  Time passes quickly with days infused with play and work that feels like fun.

Fun Farm Facts:

Did you know that like human kids, goat kids love to snuggle?

Did you know that guinea fowl can be used as a natural way to eradicate ticks, fleas, and even snakes?  (Don’t know what guinea fowl are?  Come meet some at Laurel Hill.)

Did you know that some breeds of chickens are natural composters?  (Come meet our organic composting chickens who lay the most beautiful easter colored eggs.)

“I’ve gained a deeper awareness about how animals mirror and respond to us.  If you are trying to hurry or if you are tense, the kids will be hard to feed.  And if you ground and calm yourself, they relax and reflect that energy.  Working around the goats has deepened my awareness of myself, my energy, and my ability to be present to the moment rather than ruminating about the future or other problems.”  - Anne Davidson

“Amy, the farm owner, is an excellent teacher! She is very patient and provides excellent training on the various jobs.  She is eager to share information and has a wealth of knowledge!” – Jim Burke
